Hot Wheels

Hot Wheels are a renowned brand of toy and model cars, loved internationally by children and collectors alike. Hot Wheels are known for the coolest toys, the funkiest designs, the craziest stunts, the fastest action, and the most epic races.

For Hot Wheels’ latest retail product campaign ‘Let’s Race’, we were called in to produce some super-fun and vibrant content. And so the hunt was on to find a couple of ‘cool dude’ mini models and style them as Hot Wheels brand ambassadors for the day, to promote the soon to be launched clothing and toy product ranges, with online retailer Very! 

The aim of this product shoot was to highlight both the toys and clothing, and to ensure the products and graphics would really POP straight off the page or screen, we scouted for the perfect white infinity cove studio and vibrant young talent, who would really bring the campaign to life. To give the shoot that childlike feel, we sourced bedroom set and props within complementary brand colour tones. With a huge focus on fun and believable imagery, it was important to everyone involved to bring the fun-factor, so once we had our 'cool dudes' feeling as comfortable and relaxed as possible on set, we gave them free-reign, letting them play away together, whilst we captured many genuine action shots! We could then revisit and snap any essential product or hero images.

We captured a wide range of imagery, highlighting both the clothing and toy range, that was used in an integrated and targeted email, social and web and print campaign throughout a 6 month period.

With a brief to capture both photography and video, our first priority was to expertly construct a hand-picked and talented crew, covering all aspects from from styling, to production, casting to lighting, running to editing. This shoot was truly a team effort, and the final content reflects how all parts of the shoot came together brilliantly to fulfil the brief.

We managed to efficiently get the job done and shoot a record number of products all on the same shoot day. We ended up delivering a total of 8 videos and 60 images, that were used in an integrated marketing campaign, covering everything from email, social media, web and print. Hot Wheels were thrilled with the final images and videos, the campaign was a huge success, with many of the product ranges selling out far quicker than anticipated!

Delivering a total of 70 images and 4 videos, we created an abundance of content for socials, online banners and product pages, to target and retarget tempted online shoppers. And with a number of product lines selling out in record time, we can call this one a job well done!
